When I cut into our worn out clothes to crochet forms I am processing my feelings about our family growing and changing over time. At the same time I am dealing with my own changes as a mother, artist and homemaker.

Working on "Early Motherhood Cocoon" for 10 years, from 2012 during my first pregnancy until 2022, I was sorting out what it meant to be an Artist AND a Mother all at once. It's easy to lose parts of yourself when you're a primary caregiver. You have to remember yourself and your own needs in order to take good care of those in your charge.
